This weekend, Washington Capitals winger TJ Oshie is participating in what is called the super bowl of celebrity sports: the American Century Championship. Held at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Stateline, Nevada, Oshie joined 80 pro athletes and Hollywood celebrities such as Charles Barkley, Aaron Rodgers, Justin Timberlake, Steph Curry, Larry The Cable Guy, Ray Romano, and Roger Clemens for the opportunity to win a share of the tournament’s $600,000 purse.

After the first round Friday, Oshie’s two points puts him in a tie for 46th place with former Orioles and Yankees pitcher David Wells. See the full leaderboard here. Oshie shot 14 over par, registering a birdie on holes three and eleven.

Oshie was joined at ACC by his wife Lauren and his two children, Lyla and one-month old Leni.

You and your wife Lauren just had your second child. What’s it like for you to have the balancing act of being a professional hockey player – come out here and compete like this – and also have the family life with two very young children?

TJ Oshie: It comes pretty easy for me just from growing up from a really good family. You go to the rink. When you go to the rink, you play hockey. You come home it’s family time. Same thing out here – although I’ve had the little girl on a couple tee boxes with me. It’s great. I’m glad the little girls can come out and watch daddy hack it up with these guys.

For all of us Washington Capitals fans, is next season going to be the season?

TJ Oshie: You know, I don’t want to come right out and say it. There’s a lot of hurt over the last couple of years. I’m sure there is for the fans as well. We’re fired up. We’re excited. We’re going to take another run at the regular season title and everything else after that.

On Saturday during Round Two, Oshie will be paired with NBA guard Andre Iguodala and NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

TJ Oshie’s wife Lauren routinely posts adorable photos of her children on Instagram. But on Thursday afternoon, life as we know it was forever changed when Lauren posted the Oshie family portrait photo taken by Meghan Doll Photography.

The entire family looks like they have been beamed down from the heavens above to make us feel only happy things inside. TJ, Lauren, and daughter Lyla have perfect smiles. And would you look at that. EVEN BABY LENI IS LOOKING AT THE CAMERA.

The Oshies also made sure to wear complementing outfits that were all white.

White is a color that typically signifies purity, innocence, and light. And according to Wikipedia, white is the color most often associated with perfection.

TJ Oshie’s family is perfect. Tell me I’m wrong.

Washington Capitals players hosted their annual Halloween Party last night and the costumes were incredible. Matt Niskanen was the tooth fairy, Alex Ovechkin was an inmate, and Zach Sanford was Dog The Bounty Hunter. TJ and Lauren Oshie, who last year were Cruella de Vil and one of the 101 dalmatians, went to the party as Mr. and Mrs. Smith 2.0. That included blood splatters all over their white clothes. The costumes worked particularly well because TJ was sporting a swollen and bloodied lip from being high-sticked the night before against the Rangers.

On Monday, Lauren Oshie posted a photo of the family’s other Halloween costumes: The Incredibles. Even Lyla got in on the act.

Thursday, TJ Oshie missed practice and the Caps game against New Jersey, returning home to tend to a “family matter.” We later learned that it was because the couple’s oldest daughter, two-year-old Lyla, had to go to the hospital.

Well I have some good news. After a several day stay, Lyla and the Oshies returned home. Lauren celebrated by taking this ridiculously adorable photo of Lyla and baby Leni. Their shirts say, “Fries before guys.”

Taylor Winnik and Lauren corresponded in the comments of her Instagram post.

On Monday we found out that the Alzners, Oshies and Winniks are vacationing together in the Bahamas during the Caps’ bye week. Tuesday night, we found out it’s not just the three couples and their kids. The Backstroms and Johanssons are with them, too.

In a post calling it the “Best Valentine’s Day we’ve ever had,” Taylor Winnik shared a photo of the whole 20-person crew, including some unidentified friends or family members, hanging out on the beach at Atlantis Paradise Island.

Looks like the Capitals are throwing it back to the ’80s for this playoff run. Several of the Caps girlfriends, wives, and daughters will be sporting custom jean jackets to root on their men.

TJ Oshie’s wife Lauren got two jackets for the couple’s daughters Lyla and Leni. The tiny jackets both say “Daddy” and sport #77 on the back. They’re also decorated with patches that pay homage to the team, the capital, and the good ol’ days where people slapped peace signs on everything.

According to Daniel Winnik’s wife Taylor, some of the wives decided to get jean jackets made to support their husbands while having a bit of fashionable fun. It also appears that the group decided to balance the retro jackets with some more modern shirts featuring emoji-esque versions of their favorite guys along with other stylish Caps gear.

Two days after watching his season end prematurely against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and his grotesquely bruised thigh attended Game Six of the Washington Wizards’ second-round series against the Boston Celtics. Ovechkin nabbed courtside seats and was joined at the game by his wife Nastya Ovechkina, his older brother Mikhail Ovechkin, and his close friend Gus.

The Wizards, who were down 3-2 and facing elimination, won 92-91 after John Wall nailed a clutch three over Avery Bradley with 3.5 seconds left.

After a report that he’s close to re-signing with the Capitals, TJ Oshie and wife Lauren jetted off to Turks and Caicos. According to Instagram, they are vacationing with fellow unrestricted free agent Kevin Shattenkirk and his girlfriend Deanna.

The two couples arrived at the Gansevoort Resort on Sunday. They were quick to post about it on Instagram.

Shattenkirk refused to sit next to Deanna on the airplane on the way to Turks and Caicos.

Once they arrived, Shattenkirk showed off the view of the pool at the resort.

The Oshies are arguably the world’s most perfect hockey family and Sunday they were at it again.

Leni was participating in the the Christian tradition of a baptism. Through the act, holy water is sprinkled onto the forehead symbolizing purification and admission into the Church of Christ. When baptisms are performed on infants, they are typically performed while the child is a few weeks old.

Leni doesn’t seem to know what is happening and looks like she is completely over her day. Lauren’s caption included the most appropriate hashtag, “#Lenisface”. I don’t think I will ever get over her leg and arm rolls, either.

Friday afternoon, the Washington Capitals announced the re-signing of forward TJ Oshie to an eight-year $46 million contract. The deal will keep the American forward in DC until he’s 38-years-old.

Oshie immediately responded to the annoucement on social media.

“Couldn't be happier to resign [sic] with the @Capitals!! Great city, great organization and even more important great people,” Oshie said on Twitter.

Due to the crazy nor’easter winds, the Capitals Friday practice and family skate outdoors at the Naval Academy were cancelled. The team moved all Stadium Series preparation activities to Kettler, but the family fun wasn’t stopped.

After practice, TJ Oshie‘s two daughters, Lyla and Leni, videobombed his locker room interview. The two did not have a care in the world that their papa was busy, and it was truly adorable.

As Oshie explains his connection to the US Navy, he pulls Leni on his lap. Leni started pulling items out of Oshie’s locker stall, which included a pack of gum, and later started poking the microphones in front of her.

Off camera, Lyla starts asking for her Papa and soon appears to give him a hug.

Lyla follows in her sister’s footsteps and pulls a wax block out of Oshie’s stall to ask him what it is. After taking it, Lyla grabs it from Oshie and again asked what is it. Curious minds just need to know!

Oshie is a true professional and did not waver with distraction in any of his answers.

Heading into the 2016-17 playoffs, the Capitals wives and children wore custom jean jackets to support the team as they made the push for the Stanley Cup.

For the Capitals 2017-18 postseason run, Lauren Oshie and her sister, Ally Cosgrove, kept the tradition alive and gave the children’s jackets a bit of an upgrade.

Each jacket — pale pink leather for the girls, and black for the boys — appears to have had the word Daddy and their respective Dad’s number painted on by hand. They also feature custom patches, with phrases like, “Who’s your Daddy,” “Best Dad ever,” “Daddy’s Girl,” and “My belongs to Daddy.”

Game Five ended in a Washington Capitals win. Celebrations are occurring all over the district, but in the Oshie household, there is a very special celebration since Papa TJ scored a goal.

After the overtime win, Lauren Oshie (a.k.a. “Mama”) got her adorable girls, Lyla and Leni, the ultimate victory food: McDonald’s.

Personally, McDonalds is the only way I know how to celebrate too, so I think I’m in excellent company.

First, the reaction to simply hearing “do you want to go to McDonalds?”

Lyla was just as excited as her little sister.

Then? That blessed feeling we ALL get when we finally get the opportunity to munch on those tasty french fries.

Next? The second wind. Suddenly all the bad nutrients rush to your head (I’m not a doctor, I don’t actually know how this works) and you become full of energy! Or, maybe it was just the adrenaline of an awesome game and having awesome french fries.

Finally, it’s time. You’re getting too much to handle and Mama wants to put you to sleep. So, she politely asks if you want to go to bed. Silly Mama. There are french fries to eat and dogs to play with!

God bless the Oshie girls. They are truly the spirit animals that we’ve always needed.

After a report that he’s close to re-signing with the Capitals, TJ Oshie and wife Lauren jetted off to Turks and Caicos. According to Instagram, they are vacationing with fellow unrestricted free agent Kevin Shattenkirk and his girlfriend Deanna.

The two couples arrived at the Gansevoort Resort on Sunday. They were quick to post about it on Instagram.

Shattenkirk refused to sit next to Deanna on the airplane on the way to Turks and Caicos.

Once they arrived, Shattenkirk showed off the view of the pool at the resort.

Lauren posted a photo of her and TJ before going out for dinner.

This never-ending rain in the DC area is making me super jealous.

The Oshies are arguably the world’s most perfect hockey family and Sunday they were at it again.

TJ Oshie along with his wife Lauren and daughter Lyla spent Father’s Day at a church in Minnesota witnessing their youngest daughter, Leni, get christened.

Leni was participating in the the Christian tradition of a baptism. Through the act, holy water is sprinkled onto the forehead symbolizing purification and admission into the Church of Christ. When baptisms are performed on infants, they are typically performed while the child is a few weeks old.

Leni doesn’t seem to know what is happening and looks like she is completely over her day. Lauren’s caption included the most appropriate hashtag, “#Lenisface”. I don’t think I will ever get over her leg and arm rolls, either.

I can’t see TJ’s face, but I can only assume he matches the look of pure joy that is on Lauren’s.

According to Instagram, Leni’s godmother is Lauren Oshie’s best friend, Anna Coty. The godfather is Lauren’s brother John Colin Cosgrove.

Friday afternoon, the Washington Capitals announced the re-signing of forward TJ Oshie to an eight-year $46 million contract. The deal will keep the American forward in DC until he’s 38-years-old.

Oshie immediately responded to the annoucement on social media.

“Couldn't be happier to resign [sic] with the @Capitals!! Great city, great organization and even more important great people,” Oshie said on Twitter.

Oshie recently participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day. Oshie’s father Tim suffers from the disease.
